How Can I Support You With FND?

Managing fluctuating and complex conditions like FND can be challenging, especially when symptoms can vary from day to day, and often accompanied with other underlying conditions too.  I understand the concerns you may have around being able to support your staff who are, in turn, supporting people with FND.

With my expertise in HR, Coaching and personal lived experience of FND, I can bring an impactful level of awareness, and provide practical, customised strategies that address these concerns. Together, we can develop solutions that enable your staff to have a true insight and understanding of the condition, it's impact and become more skilled and resourced when interacting with people who have FND.

Whether online or in-person, raising a level or awareness about FND is essential to bring about clarity and understanding.

Awareness sessions are tailored to your needs. Typically lasting 1-2 hours, and often coupled with personalised training, the focus is unique to you. Sessions can include:

  • Understanding what FND actually is - dispelling myths

  • How symptoms can present and manifest

  • Understanding some of the challenges and its impact

  • Language and approaches to use and avoid

  • Top tips on how you can help and support people with FND

  • Resources and information to take with you

"Kerryn delivered a session on FND to our staff’s Disability and Carer’s Network. It was very well presented and very informative, especially regarding the personal impact that FND can have on an individual and how we can support them."

FND is the second most common reason for referral to neurology, just behind migraine, and yet it remains relatively unknown.  It has been traditionally taught to be a psychological condition, and commonly dismissed. Now with research and fMRI, we know it has a biological and social component too.

With up-to-date information, awareness and understanding, we can transform your team's approach to ensure that they provide a compassionate and empowering aspect and feel more resourced to support those with FND.

People with FND often come with other complex conditions. Helping to support them, as well as manage their care and fulfil their needs, can be difficult to unpick and understand.

I work with care teams to raise awareness, support understanding and help resource them to feel more confident and informed when putting together personalised care packages to meet the varying needs of individuals with FND.

Employers

Managing and supporting FND in the workplace is challenging for both the employee and the employee. Often the impact is felt by the individual with the condition, their immediate colleagues and the wider team too.

I work with individuals and their teams to raise awareness, support understanding and help them all with good communication and practices to resource and empower them in the workplace.
