About Kerryn
"I understand FND becaused I have lived it."

For nearly 10 years I've supported both in-person and online communities with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) - not just as a professional, but as someone who has been through it myself.

I know the fear, the isolation, the unpredictability and frustration of symptoms that often don’t make sense to others — because I’ve lived it.
From Bed-Bound to Beyond Functional
At my worst, I was:
-
Bed-bound with paralysis
-
Experiencing absence seizures, PPPD, and non-verbal episodes
-
Overwhelmed by sensory input and cognitive fog
My recovery journey wasn’t linear, it was messy, slow and full of set backs — but it was transformational.

Every now and then, I still experience a little "blip" — maybe a moment of word-finding trouble — but I’m 97% there.

I hope that my recovery and lived experience can be a beacon of hope for others navigating this condition. It’s what fuels everything I do.
Professional, Practical, Personal

I’m not just someone who’s been there. I’ve also trained in:
-
Clinical Hypnotherapist
-
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
-
Nervous System Regulation, and
-
Employment Law as a HR professional with over 25 years’ experience
I bring together lived experience and professional training to create a space that’s real, safe, and rooted in non-judgmental acceptance — with tools that are practical and proven to support meaningful change.
My Approach
My approach is considered, collaborative, and professional — rooted in science, shaped by lived experience, and always grounded in deep respect for your whole wellbeing.
I work with openness, acceptance, compassion, and gentleness — meeting you where you are and supporting you throughout your recovery journey. I believe in creating a space that feels nourishing and nurturing, where healing unfolds at your own pace, in your own way.

Even with a wide range of neurological symptoms, we often have more in common than we think.
With the right support, we can retrain the body and brain, heal the nervous system, and learn to self-regulate — physically, mentally, emotionally, cognitively, relationally, and within the sensory system too.
About FND Wellbeing
Why FND Wellbeing was created
FND has been misunderstood and overlooked for a long time — even within healthcare. Too many people have felt dismissed, forgotten, and left to navigate it alone — frustrated, helpless, and lost.

FND charities and informed healthcare providers do what they can, but they’re stretched. There’s still a clear gap between what’s available and what people living with FND actually need.

Helping to bridge the gap.

FND Wellbeing was created to help bridge that gap — offering:
-
a compassionate approach,
-
reliable information,
-
practical guidance and tools for managing the condition,
-
techniques to support recovery, and
-
professional support along the way.
Support That Meets You Where You Are
Whether you're living with FND, supporting someone who is, or working in a professional role, there's a space here for you.
Let’s take the next step — together.
My FND Journey

I was invited to share my story on the Life With FND podcast, Talking It Out About... — a conversation that touches on the ups, downs, and everything in between when it comes to living with Functional Neurological Disorder.

If you’d like to hear more about my personal journey and reflections, you’re warmly invited to listen to this episode — and explore others in the series too.
